For Immediate Release
Milwaukee, WI – Gold In September® (G9) will host the 2016 Golden Celebration at the Grain Exchange in downtown Milwaukee on Tuesday, September 20 at 5:30 p.m.
The event will feature an amazing culinary experience featuring renowned chefs along with several James Beard Award-winning chefs. Event Co-Chairs Elizabeth Brenner and Steve Ostrofsky, Barri and Dave Drury, and Tricia and John Shinners will welcome a sell-out crowd of more than 300 guests for this memorable event where funds raised will benefit Gold in September® (G9) to support every child, everywhere battling cancer today, tomorrow, and until cures are found.
The 2016 Golden Celebration will commemorate the confluence of a community of amazing leaders, locally and nationally, coming together to help change the future of childhood cancer. Childhood cancer is an urgent health crisis, even for those surviving. With golden hope, G9 inspires the world to #growGOLD for childhood cancer, giving optimism to every child battling cancer.
Funds raised at the 2016 Golden Celebration will be used in full to support the mission of G9: to increase funding for childhood cancer research and initiatives by raising awareness that will inspire others to take action. G9 directly funds Early Phase Trials, bringing the most advanced and promising treatments to kids faster.
Annie Bartosz, who founded G9 in 2012 when she was only 11, created the non-profit after watching her twin brother, Jack, battle cancer for nearly seven years. After Jack’s passing at the age of ten, Bartosz turned her grief into action. She was determined to turn the world gold in September, with gold (G) and September (9) being the nationally recognized color and month for childhood cancer awareness, G9 has become not a just a mission, but a movement of golden hope uniting a nationwide community.
