Gold in September
Zimmern will join 300 medical and business leaders in G9’s largest event of the year. Gold In September, a national charity founded to support every child, everywhere battling cancer, will bring together national and local community leaders to help change the future of childhood cancer at the organization’s Golden Celebration gala on Tuesday, April 24.
The event will feature an amazing culinary experience featuring James Beard Award-winning chefs, Paul Bartolotta from the Bartolotta Restaurants and Celebrity Chef Andrew Zimmern, featured on the Travel Channel series, Bizarre Foods, and The Zimmern List. Funds raised at the 2018 Golden Celebration will be used in full to support the mission of G9: to raise awareness and inspire action for childhood cancer initiatives. G9 directly funds Early Phase Trials, bringing the most advanced and promising treatments to kids faster.
Gold is the national color of childhood cancer and September, the ninth month, is National Childhood Cancer Awareness month. In 2017, the charity funded more than $800,000 toward G9 Centers of Excellence throughout the US, including Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin. The charity was founded in 2012 by then 10 year-old Annie Bartosz, who had lost her twin brother to cancer.
Golden Celebration to bring national and local leaders together in fight to end childhood cancer and celebrate work happening in Milwaukee to make impact across the country.
Food Network’s Andrew Zimmern and Milwaukee’s own Paul Bartolotta will be available for interviews about how they have been inspired to get involved.
